Leh - Siachen Base Camp With Turtuk 7 Nigh 8 Days

After breakfast visit to Leh Market, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Magnetic Hill, Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and The Sangam of Zanskar & Indus River. Stay overnight in Leh.

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley (Known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest region in Ladakh) via Khardungla pass. This road is considered to be the highest motorable road of the world. En route, admire the spectacular views of the never ending snow-capped mountain ranges around Khardungla Pass (18,390 feet) After spending some time at Khardungla, proceed to Nubra. Enroute you can enjoy adventure activities like ATV ride (On direct payment basis). After Hotel check-in, isit 108 ft high Maitriya Buddha Statue at Diskit monastery and Hunder Sand Dunes where you can enjoy double humped camel ride (on direct payment basis) and have a wonderful view of Nubra Valley. Overnight stay in Nubra.

After breakfast drive to Turtuk (which is first time opened for the tourist since 2010) Turtuk was under Pakistan's control until 1971, after which India gained control of this strategic area. It is predominantly a Muslim village, and residents speak languages including Balti, Ladakhi and Urdu. Turtuk is the last outpost in India after which the Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan begins. Turtuk is one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier. This village was captured by Indians Army in war of 1972 with Pakistan. Visit Balti Heritage House and Museum is a family run heritage building and museum & Turtuk Waterfalls. Later proceed to visit Thang (Zero Point) village is near Turtuk village, Shyok Valley, India. Here we have an opportunity to visit the last northern most border village from where the LOC with Pakistan is just 2.2 KM. away. It is Last village of India on Leh Baltistan border. We can see our as well as Pakistani bunkers here. Here Shyok river enters in Pakistan. Return Back to Nubra. Stay overnight in Nubra.

After breakfast proceed to visit the Sumur village also known for its sand dunes. The main attraction of the village is the Samstanling Gompa, located above the village at the foot of barren mountains. Built in the year 1840, though the construction of the monastery looks modern, yet it retains the spiritual aura. The monastery houses around 100 monks. It has two main prayer halls. Next stop is Panamik, known mainly for hot springs. The Panamik is the last village in Nubra valley, 22 kilometres from Sumur. The Panamik village serves as a base for the trek to the 260-year-old Ensa Monastery, which is known for Buddhist murals. You can also hike 15 to 20 minutes to reach the spectacular and sacred Yarab Tso Lake there. The Panamik village is a good place to buy Pashmina shawls, woolen socks and dry fruits as they are inexpensive as compared to other places in the region. After enjoying hot spring at Panamic, drive to the Siachen Base Camp: The Highest Battlefield in the world. Meet Army people and get to know about the daily life at Siachen. Return Back to Nubra. Stay overnight in Nubra.

We will start the day following the same route towards Leh till we reach Khalsar. From the Agyam bridge, we will take the left route which leads us to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk. The road after Shyok is good but very steep. After Durbuk, take left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Drive further to Pangong Lake one of the largest and most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 14000 ft, more than half of the lake is within Chinese Territory and only one third part lies in India. Explore the lake area, might catch some rare wildlife. Spend some time around the lake visit the 03 Idiot shooting point, try local food at any of the small restaurant around the Lake shore., Later free time at Leisure and enjoy the colour changing lake and the sun set on the banks of lake. Stay overnight in Pangong.

Early morning enjoys the picturesque view of Sun rise on the lake. After breakfast drive back to Leh, take a short halt at Changla Pass to enjoy a cup of hot steaming tea. Enroute visit Shey Place, the ancient capital of Ladakh and Thiksay Monastery located on top of a hill; the Monastery is an excellent example of Ladakhi architecture. This contains several Stupas, Statues, Thangkas, Wall Paintings and a large pillar depicting Buddha's teachings. Later continue to drive to visit Hemis Monastery, which was built in 1630, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism and It houses some beautiful Wall Paintings, Thangka and several other historic objects. Arrive in Leh. Check in to the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Stay overnight in Leh.

Early morning transfers to Leh airport to board flight back to destination. Journey ends with Sweet Memories of Ladakh.
